Chen Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan/Tai Chi) is a Chinese martial art for health, fitness & self-defense. At the Phoenix Center, Instructor Michael Rosario-Graycar focuses on traditional training methods, including: qigong (chi kung), forms (Lao Jia, Xin Jia & traditional weapons) & martial applications.

Taiji is one of several systems recognized as nei jia (internal style martial arts), along with Baguazhang (Pa Kua Chang) and Xing Yi (Hsing Yi). Other styles related are Yiquan (I’Chuan), Bajiquan, Liu He Ba Fa, Tong Bei, and Aikido. What separates these styles from other martial arts is the extreme focus on nei gong (internal energy training) rather than wei gong (external energy training).
